Call For Papers: Advancing One Health: Innovations and Future Directions in The Journal of Nutrition
The Journal of Nutrition invites submissions to its special issue, Advancing One Health: Innovations and Future Directions. This issue will feature high-quality original research and reviews addressing the interconnections between human, animal, plant, and environmental health. Topics of interest include food systems, microbiome research, environmental health, and the role of nutrition in disease prevention and public health. We welcome submissions that explore new concepts, technical innovations, and policy frameworks shaping the future of One Health.
Manuscripts may address key challenges related to soil/plant health and human health, animal-human interactions/bonds to improve animal and human health, comparative and experimental nutrition, the role of the microbiome, and nutrition and food systems in response to environmental influences such as water and foodborne pathogens, toxins, contaminants (including PFAS and microplastics), antimicrobial resistance, vector-borne diseases, and zoonotic infections. Studies examining the impact of climate stressors (heat, drought, weather variability) on food and health systems are particularly encouraged.
Additionally, this issue welcomes research on interventions that leverage animal-human interactions for mutual health benefits, as well as food and agricultural policies shaping One Health. We also invite manuscripts that explore the social, economic, and ecological sustainability of integrated One Health approaches.
