Biking the Galloping Goose
Victoria is a great biking city (lots of protected bike lanes), but it also has the Galloping Goose - a great trail to get out of the city. Fortunately, there are several bike rental companies within walking distance of the hotel. The trail starts on the other side of the harbor about 2 km from the hotel, and splits after about 4 km into the Galloping Goose (westward) and the Lochside Trail (northwards). Suggested paths, endpoints, and maps at : https://www.crd.ca/parks-recreation/find-park-or-trail/galloping-goose-regional-trail. You can even take the trail to Hatley Park Gardens (~14 km).
Beacon Hill Park
Large city park with walkways (and peacocks!). Starts within easy walking distance of the hotel, and extends south and eventually runs along the water.
BC Royal Museum
Various permanent and temporary displays, and an IMAX theatre. Within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Fisherman’s Wharf
A small collection of wharfside cafes, shops and house boats. Within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Chinatown
Canada's oldest Chinatown (dating back to 1858), it consists of about 3 city blocks. Tourists love Fan Tan alley for some reason. Maybe combine with a walk along the harbour from the hotel?
Shopping
The main tourist drag is Government Street. But downtown areas slightly off the beaten track include areas near Lower Johnson Street (LoJo) and Market Square. All areas within walking distance of the hotel.
Tea at the Fairmont Hotel
For those who crave (and can afford) the Old World experience, consider High Tea at the nearby Fairmont Hotel. Reservations definitely required.
